Configuration
This page covers the NT8 Trade Copier. Tradovate setup differs: you link the Tradovate identities holding your accounts first, then pick a leader, followers, and a copy mode on the Tradovate Copier page. There is no Add-On step, and some settings below have no Tradovate equivalent. See Tradovate Copier.
A copier is one leader paired with one or more followers, plus the rules for transforming what the leader does. Create one from Add Copier on the Trade Copier page.
The settings
| Setting | What it controls |

| Leader | The account whose activity is copied. |
| Followers | One or more accounts that receive the copies. Selecting several and naming them creates a group copier, which applies one rule set to all of them. |
| Mode | On NT8, Order mode copies when the leader's order is placed and Execution mode copies when it fills. The Tradovate copier has its own three modes: signal, execution, and order (order mode is in beta). See Copy Modes. |
| Ratio | Multiplier on the leader's quantity, picked from a list from 0.25x to 10x. See Position Sizing. |
| Max Position Size | Ceiling on the follower's total position (the Max Pos. Qty field), enforced before every copy. 0 means no limit. |
| Instruments | White-list of instruments this copier may act on. |
| Replacements | Swap the leader's contract for a related one on the follower. In order mode the editor only accepts related products, so ES to MES saves and an unrelated pair does not. See Instrument Filtering and Replacement. |
| Inverted | Follower trades the opposite direction, for hedging. |
| Fills Only | Order mode only: copies the leader's fills as market orders and skips pending limit and stop entries. |
| Stealth | Gives copied orders neutral names instead of CrossTrade's tracking IDs. See Stealth Mode. |
| Tandem | Binds copying to the follower's Account Manager monitor, so a breached monitor halts copying. See Tandem Mode. |
| Auto-Sync | Continuous position alignment, every 10 seconds by default. The editor accepts 3 to 900 seconds and rejects anything outside that range. See Auto-Sync Engine. |
| Reconnect Delay | Suppresses copying for a window after the leader's connection is re-established. On by default for new copiers, at 10 seconds. See Reconnect Delay. |
| Strategy Tag Behavior | How the copier treats positions opened by a tagged NinjaScript strategy: Override (the default) acts on them and cleans up the tag, Skip leaves them alone. |
| Copier On/Off | The switch in the copier list. Create Copier & Enable turns a new copier on as it saves. Changes to a saved config apply immediately without switching it off first. |
Before going live
Test in simulation first. A successful entry is not a complete test: verify the exits, the cancel and flatten paths, and what happens across a disconnect. The Pre-Live Verification Checklist walks the whole thing, and the Troubleshooting page covers what to check when a copy does not land.
