Tradovate behavior

This page covers the NT8 Trade Copier. Tradovate setup differs: you link the Tradovate identities holding your accounts first, then pick a leader, followers, and a copy mode on the Tradovate Copier page. There is no Add-On step, and some settings below have no Tradovate equivalent. See Tradovate Copier.

A copier is one leader paired with one or more followers, plus the rules for transforming what the leader does. Create one from Add Copier on the Trade Copier page.

The settings

SettingWhat it controls
LeaderThe account whose activity is copied.
FollowersOne or more accounts that receive the copies. Selecting several and naming them creates a group copier, which applies one rule set to all of them.
ModeOrder mode copies when the leader's order is placed. Execution mode copies when it fills. See Copy Modes.
RatioMultiplier on the leader's quantity. See Position Sizing.
Max quantityCeiling on the follower's total position, enforced before every copy.
InstrumentsWhite-list of instruments this copier may act on.
ReplacementsSwap the leader's contract for a related one on the follower. See Instrument Filtering and Replacement.
InvertedFollower trades the opposite direction, for hedging.
Market orders onlyCopy only market orders, skipping pending limit and stop entries.
StealthRemoves automation signatures from copied orders. See Stealth Mode.
TandemBinds copying to the follower's Account Manager monitor, so a breached monitor halts copying. See Tandem Mode.
Auto-SyncContinuous position alignment, with a configurable interval. See Auto-Sync Engine.
Reconnect delaySuppresses copying for a window after the leader's connection is re-established. See Reconnect Delay.
Strategy tag modeHow the copier treats positions opened by a tagged NinjaScript strategy.
ActiveThe on/off switch. Changes to a saved config apply immediately without disabling first.

Two limits worth knowing before you save

The Auto-Sync interval is capped at 900 seconds (15 minutes), and has a minimum below which it will not save. The editor rejects values outside that range rather than silently clamping them.

Replacements in order mode are restricted to related products, so ES to MES saves and an unrelated pair does not.

Before going live

Test in simulation first. A successful entry is not a complete test: verify the exits, the cancel and flatten paths, and what happens across a disconnect. The Pre-Live Verification Checklist walks the whole thing, and the Troubleshooting page covers what to check when a copy does not land.
