What happened?

In a recent article wrote about TradingView's apparently awful and misguided update to its Screener during the week of June 10th, 2024.

In less than 48 hours, in an announcement on Reddit comments, the TradingView team has decided to roll back the decision to update the screener and reverted to the older Screener design.

The user coined "Founder" in the TradingView subreddit is going post-to-post addressing these concerns by parroting the following comment:

They've also removed the announcement about the Screener update from the "What's new" section of their website.

Thoughts on TradingView's Conduct

To TV's credit, they listened to their users. Some companies release new features or introduce big changes without consulting their user base, then force them to adopt the change. Some companies think they know better than their users.

But without the traders using the product, there is no company. At the very least TradingView understands this, and I applaud their willingness to listen and act upon what their users say and want.

Hopefully they'll take it to heart and produce and improve upon the Screener users know and love.
