May was a month of big improvements, quiet fixes, and continued momentum for CrossTrade. As more traders adopt the platform, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to stay ahead of demand, improve reliability, and roll out some quality-of-life updates you’ve been asking for.

Here’s a quick rundown of what changed in May.

Server Upgrades to Handle Growth 🚀

Over the last few months, CrossTrade has seen a sharp increase in usage. To keep up, we doubled the capacity of our main trading server over the weekend. If you noticed a speed bump or two recently—especially around the time we launched the new dashboard—you weren’t alone. Some users experienced UI lag and performance issues on launch day, and we want to thank you for your patience while we sorted things out.

Since then, we’ve made backend improvements and boosted system responsiveness across the board. To err on the side of caution, we also temporarily reverted the old dashboard as the default view while we continue testing the new one in parallel. You can still access the new experience anytime at app.crosstrade.io, and we’ve added a toggle banner after login to make switching easy. Once we’re confident things are running smoothly for everyone, we’ll make the new dashboard the default for all users.

Account Nicknames Are Here

We know how messy it can get managing multiple NinjaTrader accounts—especially when you're staring at a string of random numbers. Starting this week, CrossTrade now supports account nicknames inside the Account Manager. You can assign a custom label to each account, making it much easier to keep track of which is which during live trading. No more guesswork.

Version 1.8.1 (and now 1.8.3)

Earlier this month, we rolled out CrossTrade version 1.8.1. This release introduced a handful of new features for users running advanced automation setups—especially those using Unrealized Mode to continuously monitor open trades.

With 1.8.1, you can now:

  • Set individual Position P/L thresholds, so that CrossTrade flattens trades immediately once your max loss or profit per position is hit
  • Rely on improved order blocking for NT8 when in “Closing Only” mode
  • Expect smoother performance thanks to backend processing upgrades

Since then, we’ve pushed version 1.8.3, which includes compatibility updates for users running NinjaTrader 8.1.5. You can read more about the v1.8.x update series here.

NT8 8.1.5 Compatibility

NinjaTrader’s newest release (v8.1.5) arrived at the end of May. While many of its changes are focused on visual improvements, charting tools, and hotkeys, a few things mattered directly to CrossTrade users:

  • ATM Strategy Name Fixes: An issue with renamed ATM strategies has been resolved, which should reduce the risk of setup conflicts for users deploying trades via CrossTrade
  • Order Handling Stability: Several order sync bugs—especially around OCO and MIT behavior—have been patched. This helps reinforce execution reliability for prop firm users routing through NT’s broker connections
  • Connection Resilience: Improved reconnection logic and error handling for NinjaTrader’s data feeds and API means fewer dropped sessions or order sync issues when running CrossTrade headless

If you're running NT8 8.1.5, make sure you're on CrossTrade v1.8.3 or newer to ensure full compatibility.

In Case You Missed It: Automating TradingView Strategies

We also published a detailed walkthrough on automating TradingView strategies with CrossTrade. The article breaks down how alerts work, what to do with closed-source strategies, and how to format messages so NinjaTrader receives clean, actionable orders.

Looking Ahead

June is shaping up to be a big month for CrossTrade with a series of updates planned. Most notably will be the initial release of our browser extension to make alert management much easier for everyone. More on that soon...
