Tradovate questions, answered
What the alpha covers, what's coming, and how it's billed
Do I need the NinjaTrader add-on to use Tradovate?
No. The Tradovate connection runs entirely in CrossTrade's cloud. You authorize Tradovate once from My Account, Brokers tab, and orders execute through Tradovate's API over HTTPS. There is no desktop software to install or keep open, and your computer can be off.
Which plans include Tradovate?
The Tradovate webhook destination is included with every plan: Standard, Pro, and Elite. There is no separate Tradovate fee. Compare plans.
What does "alpha" mean here?
Tradovate support is new and intentionally basic right now: a secure OAuth connection and core webhook automation. It works and traders use it, but expect rough edges. Running the alpha means helping us find them, so if an order behaves unexpectedly, grab the Order ID from Alert History and report it to support.
Can I use Tradovate with a prop firm account?
Many Tradovate-based funded firms (Apex, Topstep, and others) link through the Link Demo option, since firm accounts live on Tradovate's Demo environment. Be aware that some prop firms prohibit third-party automation in their terms of service, so review your firm's rules first. See our Trading Disclaimer.
What can NinjaTrader do that Tradovate cannot?
A lot, for now. The NinjaTrader integration is much deeper: the Account Manager risk monitors, strategy synchronization, fill-driven copying of manual trades, and Opposing Position Protection are NinjaTrader-only. Tradovate is newer and intentionally limited while it is in alpha.
