Why pair Cherry Studio with CrossTrade MCP
Cherry Studio is the APAC favorite for multi-model desktop chat. If you trade against DeepSeek, Qwen, GLM, or Kimi, this is the cleanest desktop UI. Native OAuth (v1.6.0+).

The connection chain
Cherry Studio │ OAuth-authorized tool call ▼ CrossTrade hosted MCP server (https://app.crosstrade.io/v1/api/mcp) │ ▼ CrossTrade Add-On running inside NT8 on your PC │ ▼ NinjaTrader 8
One URL, one consent screen, one read-only first prompt. The MCP server is hosted by CrossTrade; you don't run anything beyond NT8 + the CrossTrade Add-On.

Common questions
Is Cherry Studio a good fit for trading?
Yes, especially for traders who want multi-model desktop chat with strong APAC model coverage (DeepSeek, Qwen, GLM, Kimi). Cherry Studio's MCP integration handles streamable HTTP cleanly, with browser OAuth for compatible servers.
Do I really need Cherry Studio?
Useful if you want a free, open-source desktop chat with broad model coverage (especially APAC models). For Western models only (Claude, GPT, Gemini), Claude Desktop or ChatGPT Desktop is simpler.
Cherry Studio vs Msty Studio vs 5ire?
All three are multi-model desktop chat with MCP. Cherry Studio has the broadest provider list and strongest APAC presence. Msty Studio shines at side-by-side model comparison. 5ire is the most lightweight, MCP-native, fully open-source (Apache 2.0). Try all three if this category interests you.
Cost?
Free under AGPL-3.0 (Community Edition). Separate paid Enterprise edition for SSO, central admin, audit logs. You pay for your chosen LLM providers.
Mac, Windows, and Linux?
All three. Windows 10+ (x64), macOS 11+ (Intel/Apple Silicon or universal Homebrew cask), Linux (.deb, .rpm, .AppImage).
Why baseUrl instead of url?
Cherry Studio uses baseUrl for streamableHttp and sse server types. Schema validation rejects mismatches. Different from every other tool's url key — a common copy-paste error.
Is there a security issue with older Cherry Studio?
Yes — versions ≤ v1.5.1 had an OS command injection vulnerability via untrusted HTTP MCP server OAuth metadata (GHSA-8xr5-732g-84px). Upgrade to v1.6.0+. Don't connect untrusted MCP servers on older versions.
Which models work best with CrossTrade through Cherry Studio?
DeepSeek and Qwen for cost-efficient journal analysis. Claude for NinjaScript drafting (if your provider list includes it). GLM and Kimi work well for trading commentary. Mix and match per session.
