FTMO Futures rules and payout rules
FTMO's futures evaluation, Sim-Funded and payout rules, and how CrossTrade connects your TradingView strategies to your FTMO accounts on Tradovate and NinjaTrader. FTMO permits automated trading and copying between your own accounts, so one strategy can run across unlimited evaluations and up to 3 Sim-Funded accounts.

FTMO's rules aren't in our automated checks yet, so the figures on this page come from our own reading of FTMO's site, which is the final word.
Three steps from TradingView alert to FTMO order fill
Use the CrossTrade NT8 Add-On for a NinjaTrader route, or link your FTMO Tradovate login for direct cloud routing with destination=tradovate. Verify that your specific FTMO account can be linked and check FTMO's current rules for your plan.
Connect your account
Copy your trading login from Credentials on the Accounts Overview page of FTMO's Client Area, and sign in to Tradovate in Simulation mode. Then install the CrossTrade NT8 Add-On for a NinjaTrader route, or link the same Tradovate login to CrossTrade under Demo for cloud routing without NT8.
Configure your TradingView alerts
Use the free XT Alert Builder indicator to format your webhook payload visually. No JSON required. Map entries, exits, and ATM brackets to dropdown menus.
Sync strategy state
CrossTrade tracks your TradingView strategy's intended position against your FTMO account's actual fills. If they desync, auto-flatten reconciles before drawdown becomes a problem.
Every FTMO Futures rule, mapped to a CrossTrade control
FTMO's drawdown and session rules decide more accounts than the market does. CrossTrade runs your limits per account, so you set the exit before FTMO's rules set it for you.
EOD Trailing Max Drawdown
Growth $2,000 / $3,500 / $5,000. Pro $3,000 / $4,500 / $6,000. On 50K / 100K / 150K
Each trading day starts with a limit set from your highest prior closing balance. It never moves down and locks at your starting balance. End of day sets when the limit rises, not when it's enforced: equity, open P&L included, can't touch it at any moment.
Set a drawdown threshold per account inside FTMO's limit. CrossTrade flattens and locks the account before the breach.
Daily Loss Limit
Pro: hard, $1,000 / $1,500 / $2,000 in both phases. Growth: none in the evaluation, soft $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 on Sim-Funded
Each day's limit is your start-of-day balance minus the amount, measured on equity. On Pro, touching it fails the evaluation or ends the Sim-Funded account. On a Growth Sim-Funded account, FTMO closes your positions and stops trading for the day, and the account survives.
Set your own daily loss limit per account, tighter than FTMO's. On Pro, that's the difference between a bad day and a lost account.
4:10 PM ET End of Trading Day
Positions and resting orders. No overnight or weekend holds
FTMO's trading day runs from 6:00 PM to 4:10 PM ET. Anything still open or working at 4:10 PM is liquidated or cancelled, and strategies that rely on exposure past the close are prohibited.
Set an end-of-day flatten a few minutes earlier on each account. It cancels working orders and closes positions.
Independent Risk Management
A forbidden trading practice on every account, in every phase
FTMO prohibits positions that rely on the platform's drawdown protection as their only exit. Your trading has to carry its own risk management.
Per-account loss limits and a scheduled flatten give every account its own planned exits, alongside your strategy's stops.
No Hedging Across Accounts
Your own accounts, other traders' accounts, or other FTMO Group accounts
FTMO bans trades across accounts that cancel out directional risk, in the same, related, or correlated contracts, such as long ES in one account and short NQ in another. Opposite positions are allowed only within a single account.
Followers copy the master's direction. Leave inversion off on FTMO accounts.
Unlimited evaluations, up to 3 Sim-Funded
Shared across Growth and Pro. Copying your own accounts is allowed
FTMO permits copying across your own accounts as long as each one meets its own rules. Copying another trader, a signal service, or someone else's master account is prohibited.
Mirror one master to your other FTMO accounts. CrossTrade copies only between the accounts you connect.
Contract Limits and Scaling
Evaluation 5 / 10 / 15 contracts. Sim-Funded starts at 2 / 4 / 6 and scales to 5 / 10 / 15
Limits count across all instruments, and 10 micros count as 1 mini. On a Sim-Funded account the limit rises as end-of-day profit grows, and falls back if it shrinks.
Size each follower on its own, so a new Sim-Funded account copies at 2 contracts while a scaled one copies more.
Consistency Rule (Evaluation)
Best day at most 40% of total profit on Growth, 50% on Pro
It isn't a breach, but you can't pass until your best day falls under the limit. On a 50K Growth evaluation, a $2,000 day means trading on to $5,000 in total profit. Sim-Funded accounts have no consistency rule.
Set a daily profit target per account, such as $1,200 on a 50K Growth, so no single day outgrows the rule.
Copy one strategy across all your FTMO accounts
FTMO allows unlimited evaluations and up to 3 Sim-Funded accounts at once, shared across Growth and Pro, and it permits copying between your own accounts. CrossTrade's Trade Copier mirrors a master account to followers with independent sizing, real-time desync detection, and execution validation on every order. On Tradovate accounts, the Tradovate trade copier does the same from our cloud, with your computer off.
- Mirror one master to your other accounts with per-account sizing
- Auto-sync monitors and reconciles drift every 3 seconds
- Execution validation flags any failed copy in real time
- Keep inversion off: FTMO bans hedging across accounts
- Size each follower to its own contract limit
Per-account controls with FTMO's exact rule values
Set drawdown thresholds, daily loss limits, profit targets, and end-of-day flatten times independently for each FTMO account. When a threshold hits, CrossTrade flattens positions and locks the account on your terms, ahead of FTMO's own limits. On linked Tradovate accounts, these monitors run on CrossTrade's servers even with your browser closed. On NinjaTrader routes, they run while the CrossTrade NT8 Add-On is connected.
- Drawdown tracking matched to your account size and plan
- Daily loss limits set tighter than Pro's hard limit
- Daily profit targets that keep your best day inside the consistency rule
- Auto-flatten before 4:10 PM ET, working orders included
- Per-account or grouped across multiple accounts
FTMO Futures evaluations and Sim-Funded accounts
Values below were read on FTMO's Futures Trading Objectives & Rules page on October 25, 2026. Growth and Pro share a single-phase evaluation in $50K, $100K, and $150K sizes, billed monthly with no activation fee. A breached evaluation gets a new account at the next billing date, or sooner with a reset fee. Sim-Funded accounts pay 90/10: Growth lets you withdraw up to 50% of your profit per payout, Pro up to 100%. FTMO warns that a full withdrawal on a Pro Sim-Funded account can breach its Max Drawdown, so read the payout conditions before requesting one. Verify all current pricing, profit targets, drawdown amounts, and account sizes directly on FTMO's website before purchasing. Prop firms adjust plans frequently.
Common questions about CrossTrade with FTMO
Does FTMO allow automated trading and trade copiers on futures accounts?
Yes, with limits. FTMO's Forbidden Trading Practices page for futures says automated trading is permitted, and that copy trading across your own accounts is permitted as long as each account meets every rule on its own. FTMO prohibits automated systems that manipulate or exploit the simulated environment, including high-frequency strategies and latency arbitrage, and you are responsible for any errors your software makes. Copying another trader is prohibited, whether through a signal service, a master account, or a trade copier. FTMO also warns that a third-party strategy other traders already run can cost you the Sim-Funded account, and that the platform limits how many orders you can send in a short period. Rules can change, so check FTMO's current rules before going live.
Which platform does CrossTrade use with FTMO Futures?
Either NinjaTrader 8 or Tradovate. FTMO lists NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and TradingView for its futures accounts, all on one set of credentials from the Client Area. Use NinjaTrader 8 with the CrossTrade NT8 Add-On, or link your FTMO Tradovate login to CrossTrade (under Demo, since FTMO accounts are simulated) for direct cloud routing with destination=tradovate and no Add-On. Your alerts come from TradingView either way. FTMO's CFD Challenge is a separate product on separate platforms, and CrossTrade doesn't place orders on it.
How fast does CrossTrade send TradingView alerts to my FTMO account?
On NinjaTrader routes, average alert-to-execution time is approximately 30 milliseconds end-to-end through the CrossTrade NT8 Add-On. Direct Tradovate uses cloud routing, and timing varies with network and Tradovate API conditions.
Can CrossTrade enforce FTMO's drawdown and daily loss limits?
Yes. CrossTrade's Account Manager lets you configure drawdown thresholds, daily loss limits, profit targets, and end-of-day flatten times for each account independently. Set them tighter than FTMO's, and when one triggers, CrossTrade flattens open positions and locks the account from new orders for the rest of the session. That matters most on Pro, where touching FTMO's daily loss limit ends the account. On linked Tradovate accounts, these monitors run on CrossTrade's servers even with your browser closed. On NinjaTrader routes, they run while the CrossTrade NT8 Add-On is connected.
Can I copy one trade across all my FTMO accounts?
Yes, across your own accounts. FTMO allows unlimited evaluations and up to 3 Sim-Funded accounts at once, shared across Growth and Pro, and it permits copying between your own accounts. CrossTrade's Trade Copier mirrors one master account to followers with independent sizing, so size each follower within its contract limit: 5, 10, or 15 contracts on a 50K, 100K, or 150K evaluation, and from 2, 4, or 6 on a new Sim-Funded account. Copy in the same direction only: FTMO prohibits trades across accounts that offset each other, including in correlated contracts. FTMO also does not allow holding more accounts through separate registrations.
Does CrossTrade automatically flatten my FTMO positions before the daily close?
Yes. The Account Manager includes a configurable end-of-day flatten time per account, and the flatten cancels working orders as well as closing positions. FTMO's trading day ends at 4:10 PM ET, and any position or resting order still open then is liquidated or cancelled. FTMO also prohibits strategies that rely on exposure past the close. Set CrossTrade to flatten 5 to 10 minutes earlier so you choose the exit instead of FTMO. On linked Tradovate accounts, a scheduled flatten runs only in the five minutes after its set time, so keep that time inside the trading day.
Will using CrossTrade violate any FTMO rule?
FTMO says automated trading is permitted and that copying across your own accounts is allowed, so routing your own TradingView signals to your own FTMO accounts is not the problem. What FTMO prohibits is in the trading itself: high-frequency strategies and latency arbitrage, hedging across accounts, copying another trader, opening positions within 2% of a CME daily price limit, holding positions or orders past 4:10 PM ET, relying on the platform's drawdown protection as your only exit, and trading that couldn't be repeated with real money, such as overleveraging. Check FTMO's current rules before going live.
Can I run CrossTrade on a VPS with FTMO?
Yes. FTMO allows a VPN or VPS as long as you don't live in a country FTMO doesn't serve and you keep sole control of your account. On the Tradovate route you don't need one: CrossTrade's cloud routing and Account Manager run with your computer off. On the NinjaTrader route, your automation and monitors run wherever NinjaTrader 8 runs, so a VPS keeps them online.
Can traders in the United States use FTMO Futures?
Mostly. FTMO bases eligibility on where you live, not your nationality, and it accepts U.S. residents except in Arkansas, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana, and South Carolina. U.S. clients must submit a W-9 before their first payout request. Check FTMO's current eligibility rules before you buy an evaluation.
How much does CrossTrade cost on top of my FTMO evaluation fee?
CrossTrade starts at $29 per month for the Standard plan with unlimited webhook alerts and unlimited NT8 accounts. The Pro plan is $49 per month and adds Trade Copier, Account Manager, and REST API access. Both plans include a free 7-day trial. CrossTrade billing is independent of any prop firm fees.
Does CrossTrade work during FTMO evaluations or only on Sim-Funded accounts?
Both, subject to account eligibility. FTMO's rules on automation and copying apply to every futures account in every phase, and CrossTrade supports evaluation and Sim-Funded accounts the same way. FTMO moves some Sim-Funded traders to a Live Funded account at its own discretion, so confirm the live terms with FTMO before automating one. FTMO closes a Sim-Funded account after 30 days in a row with no trading, so keep an eye on accounts your strategy isn't trading.
