Trade Copier Alternatives

A Tradecopia Alternative Where Cloud Copying Is Not the Upgrade Tier

Tradecopia is a capable copier with wide platform coverage. Its desktop tier also needs your machine awake to copy, and the versions that do not are priced above it.

CrossTrade copies NinjaTrader 8 and Tradovate accounts, and Tradovate copying runs server-side on every plan that includes the copier. This page lays out where each product is genuinely stronger, using their published details.

The Pricing Question

What running without your PC actually costs

Tradecopia publishes three tiers. Pro at $49.99 per month is a desktop application for Windows and macOS, and their own FAQ notes that the desktop app must remain running for copying and risk enforcement to work, recommending a VPS if you cannot keep the machine on. Pro+ Lite at $79.99 and Pro+ at $149.99 move the work to a hosted browser-based environment where the machine can be off.

The feature sets across those tiers are substantially similar. What scales the price is hosting.

CrossTrade's Tradovate copying runs server-side. If your accounts are on Tradovate, you are not choosing between paying more and leaving a computer on overnight. NinjaTrader is a different story and we are explicit about it below.

Automation Gaps

Where CrossTrade does more today

Tradecopia's own FAQ and feature pages describe several capabilities as absent or in progress. Each of these is shipped in CrossTrade, so if any is load-bearing for you, it is worth testing before you commit.

Trailing stops as automation, not a manual action

Tradecopia documents trailing stop handling as a manual operation rather than an automated one. CrossTrade attaches a trailing stop from the alert itself with trail_offset, and trail_trigger when the trail should wait for a profit move first. No ATM template, both brokers, and partial entry fills each get protection for their own quantity.

TradingView webhooks, today

Tradecopia lists TradingView webhook routing as coming soon. Webhook execution is the original CrossTrade product. A TradingView alert can enter through CrossTrade webhook automation, reach a source account, and flow through the copier to mapped followers.

ATM-style bracket automation

Tradecopia describes advanced ATM automation as in development. CrossTrade supports Tradovate ATM behavior and NinjaTrader ATM templates now.

More than one copy group per account

Tradecopia's FAQ states an account cannot participate in multiple simultaneous copy groups. If you run overlapping mappings, confirm that constraint against your setup before migrating either direction.

Honest Limits

Where Tradecopia is the better choice

This page would not be worth reading if it pretended otherwise.

  • Platform coverage. Tradecopia connects to Rithmic directly, and lists ProjectX and TopstepX, Sierra Chart, Quantower and ATAS. CrossTrade supports NinjaTrader 8 and Tradovate. If your accounts live outside those two, this is not a close call.
  • A native macOS desktop app. Tradecopia ships one, including Apple Silicon.
  • Journaling included at every tier. Their Report Journals are bundled with no upcharge. Review how CrossTrade pricing packages the journal against that.
  • A prop firm consistency calculator with per-firm presets. Tradecopia publishes one. CrossTrade's account rules cover drawdown, profit thresholds, trading windows and economic events, but not a per-firm consistency calculation.
  • One vendor, many platforms. If consolidating five platforms onto one bill matters more than depth on two, weight that accordingly.
What CrossTrade Does Not Claim

Limits worth stating plainly

  • A server-side configuration does not make NinjaTrader 8 cloud-native. NT8 workflows require NT8 running and connected. Only the Tradovate path is independent of your machine.
  • No copier can guarantee identical fills across accounts.
  • CrossTrade cannot promise a prop firm permits your exact automation or copying workflow. Check your firm's rules, as both vendors say.
  • Waiting for broker acknowledgment before dispatching a copy costs roughly 20 milliseconds on an accepted order. We think that is worth it; you may not.
Migration

Switching without doubling your orders

Do not run two live copiers against the same source and follower accounts. Duplicate automation can produce duplicate or conflicting orders.

Record your current source and follower accounts, platform per account, quantity ratios and maximums, instrument mappings, inversion rules, copy mode, and reconnect expectations. Rebuild the smallest useful configuration in CrossTrade, one source and one follower, matching only what you can verify. Test entry, exit, stop, target, cancel, flatten and reconnect in simulation. Disable the old copier before enabling the new live path, then start at the smallest allowed quantity and watch one complete order lifecycle.

Read the migration checklist

Test it against your actual setup

Seven days is enough to rebuild one mapping in simulation and see how both products behave on a rejected order, a reconnect, and a follower that drifts.
